Privatisation and Competition can make profit more distributive

- Congress Leader Srikant Jena
We always hear about this BIG NEXUS OF POLITICIAN-BEUROCRAT-PVT COMPANIES and their LOOT. And Jena, significantly, has chosen to place the blame at the door of our young generation civil servants. There is nothing surprising about it. In fact, the loot amount should rise over the years in keeping with the SENSEX or Real Estate prices. So, it is futile to make a moral issue about it.
It is impossible to impose personal ethics on grown-up and educated individuals. Therefore, the only recourse is Transparency. "Sunshine's the best thing we've got to control waste, fraud and abuse...It's also the best thing we've got to control stupidity."(Tom Coburn)
Free Market Economy, despite all criticisms, is the harbinger of Competition. And, only open competition can usher in Transparency. Loot or earning profit is an integral part of any buy-sell transaction, be it mangos or minerals. We cannot avoid it. But Privatisation and Competition can make it more distributive.
