The Hindustan Times: Sunday, November 20, 2005

  • Politics need not knowingly slip into the slime and squalor of an endless debasing debate and deliberation.
  • Our political and other institutions are under siege by round-the-clock cable TV onslaught in the name of transparency.
  • Free speech does not mean freedom to abuse and misinform.
  • Subtlety of style and form is now almost extinct as far as the national political dialogue is concerned.
  • The establishment of truth should be our primary duty. Not the display of the nastiest emotions — envy, vanity, greed and jealousy.
  • Why such ferocious obsession with politics. How about courage, nobility of heart and mind.
  • What about using leisure to enjoy life and not aim at squalid intrigue and loathsome verbal over-kill.
  • Why this penchant for building edifices of lies.
