Terrorism has always relied on the highly educated

Assorted tweets for general information:

@ArunudoyB This whole baul tradition of undivided bengal, in which Hindu/muslim identities never mattered, only mysticism mattered, is a syncretism of Gaudiya Bhakti Darshan with Tantric Deha Tattva, Kundalini etc. This is the beauty of bengali culture. Divergebnt streams merge here.
@ArunudoyB The song ArshiNagar of LalanFakirShah also refers to the mirror-like state of Atman as seen in Dhyana by the Yogi. And his Moner Manush refers to ChaitanyaDeb in the mood of ShriGauranga, the prince charming of Nabadwip Dham. https://t.co/akSBTjmcCF

I wrote an essay in the May issue of The Caravan on the deepening fault lines between north and south India. And how the Indian Union in its current form may well be untenable.

Be it a row over a ban on jallikattu, Cauvery water dispute or now the NEET controversy, the electronic media in Tamil Nadu is going out of its way to provoke the public and create an anti-Centre sentiment in the state. https://t.co/HDI4heJ1Ao

Partition Was India’s Greatest Tragedy, Why Shouldn’t Our Children Learn The Truth About It? - @VikasSaraswat -
Option 1: Avoid uncomfortable truths about Partition and teach children a sanitised version of events.
Option 2: Engage with the history of Partition as a mature society and face the bitter truths.

From Osama Bin Laden to Kobad Ghandy, terrorism has always relied on the highly educated. Islamism is not a Nihilist cause that requires brainwashed foot soldiers. It is complex and requires intellectual legitimacy. Plugging my piece.  https://t.co/Y2g98Xep11
Islamist terrorism and Naxal activities in India are both extremely complex pursuits and require a high level of intelligence rather than indoctrinated foot-soldiers. The Islamist movement in Kashmir is no different than what is happening globally. Impoverishment or lack of awareness has nothing to do with such politics. In fact, a heightened sense of awareness and an intellectual legitimisation of the goals could be propelling more educated youth towards terrorist activities.
